FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Anginetti. When our local shelter had a flood emergency, we took a bunch of dogs into our foster program, including Angi. After just one day in our foster's home, she asked if we could keep her and adopt her out as a Save-A-Mutt dog... she loved her that much! Angi immediately hit it off with her foster's nieces. She's sweet, loves cuddles and soft places to nap. Her foster mom said she would be great as an only dog, or in a home with other dogs. She's learning to fetch and even appears to be housebroken.
Now, what is she!? Anginetti is about 30# and we are guessing she's under two years of age. She has a 'wall eyed' appearance and we had her checked by our veterinarian who said it's likely her breed... so we think she might be a Boston Terrier / Bully mix. She's just a very unusual, beautiful girl!
This dog is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She was treated for an ear infection when she first arrived at the shelter and with the evacuation, we had our veterinarian send her home with ear cleaner. We even did a culture and sensitivity test - which came back negative for anything more serious, and they think it was likely just a yeast infection. Angi came to the shelter very skinny, and it appears she had puppies. She's a mystery for sure - so we want to get her an amazing home that will shower her with love!
The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. We don’t hold dogs, adoption applications may be approved in just a few days depending on how quickly references respond. If you are planning on a vacation or have an issue that may delay your ability to move forward with the adoption within a few days of approval, please let us know in advance.
Adoption fee is $375. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

More about this rescue
Save-A-Mutt is dedicated to creating awareness about the number of adoptable dogs in shelters and rescues... and to find every dog its forever home! We do this by raising funds to A) cover the costs of transporting litters of puppies from high kill shelters to spay/neuter and adopt out; B) Focus on the welfare and final placement of Senior Dogs relinquished at area shelters, and C) assist and support local rescue groups. In addition, we hold a firm belief that 'Puppies aren't Products' and hope to stop the sale of puppies and kittens in Washington State pet stores.
