My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bailey is a sweet soul who's learning how cool living in a house is! This adorable puppy has blossomed in foster care, transforming from uncertain to happy-go-lucky!
While Bailey might be a puppy, she's surprisingly mellow for her age. She's the perfect couch potato companion who would rather snuggle up in a "puppy puddle" than run marathons. Don't get us wrong—she absolutely loves playtime, especially roughhousing with her doggy friends and creating her own little obstacle courses with toys. But when you're ready to relax, so is she.
Bailey is crate-trained and working diligently on her potty training (she's getting so much better!). She knows "sit" and is eager to learn more. This smart girl has a hound dog nose that can track down any hidden treat, and she's mastered the art of leaving the cats alone—though she might politely ask them to move if they're blocking her path!
We won't sugarcoat it: Bailey is still building her confidence with the outside world. Cars and loud noises can be scary for her, and walks are a work in progress. But with patience, gentle encouragement, and perhaps a confident canine companion to show her the ropes, she's steadily gaining courage. She's already proven how resilient she is—once she knows she's safe, her tail comes out from between her legs and her true personality shines.
Bailey's Perfect Home:

A household with another friendly dog would be ideal—she truly thrives with a furry friend
Patient humans who will continue building her confidence at her own pace
A calm environment where she can feel secure
People who appreciate a loving, loyal shadow who just wants to be near you

This gentle girl has so much love to give. She's been through a lot in her short life, but she's learning to trust and has such a forgiving heart. Bailey is looking for a family who will show her that she's finally home—forever.

Additional adoption info

Peace Love and Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused animals. Peace Love and Paws Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering and microchipping prior to their adoption.

This questionnaire is designed to help Peace Love and Paws Rescue determine if a specific dog is the right match for you and your household. All adopting and fostering parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Peace Love and Paws Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption or fostering based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions and placing foster homes!

More about this rescue

We are three passionate, animal loving dog moms who met through various volunteer efforts at local rescues in the Detroit area. We continued talking outside of volunteering and quickly came to realize that we all had similar goals, to help as many animals in need that we possibly could. In the Detroit area, there are so many animals who need homes, medical attention, and love.

We decided that we wanted to be able to do more to help these animals. We are raising funds through selling merchandise, fundraising, donations, and supporting local community events. All funds raised will be used to establish a nonprofit status, fund the medical needs of local dogs, and find shelter animals their furever home.

Follow us on our journey to create a rescue that provides animals the love and care they need while they find their home. We will post updates on our social media of the dogs we are able to help and how your support made a difference.
