My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mikaela, a total sweetheart whose fluffy little ears are almost as big as her personality!

Born at the end of September, this precious Chihuahua mix is a bundle of cuteness just waiting to find her forever family. As she is still in her early puppy stages, Mikaela is a student of the world and will need a patient leader to help her master the ropes of potty, kennel, and leash training. Because of her tiny frame, she’ll need a "lift" getting on and off the couch to keep her growing bones safe while she snuggles.

Mikaela is a genuine friend to everyone she meets and truly enjoys the company of humans and dogs of all sizes, though she hasn’t had the chance to meet any cats just yet. She comes fully prepared for her new life—she’s already microchipped, current on her vaccines, and has her spay surgery scheduled. If you have a soft spot for tiny fluffers with a big heart, Mikaela is ready to wiggle her way into your home!

Additional adoption info

In some circumstances, meeting the dog and a home check are done at the same time if the dog is ready to be adopted. We do have conversation with potential adopters prior to them meeting the dog. If they are interested in adopting a puppy who is not ready for adoption (not altered, not UTD, etc) they are able to put a hold on the pup until ready for adoption.

More about this rescue

Pathways for Paws was founded in October 2019. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization.

Our mission is to make spay/neuter & vaccinations affordable to those in our communities. By achieving this, we will help prevent the neglect & abuse of dogs. All dogs in our care are spay/neutered, given the age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before going to their FURever families.

We work with rescues & fellow animal advocates to continue growing a network of volunteers and supporters.
