Sophia is a beautiful 3-year-old Pit Bull mix located in Oregon House, Yuba County, California, and she’s a joyful, athletic girl with a huge heart and an even bigger smile. Weighing about 60 pounds, she’s spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for her next chapter. Sophia was found lost on a property two years ago and taken in, but due to her owner’s health and Sophia’s need for an active lifestyle, she’s now looking for a home that can truly keep up with her youthful energy and love of adventure.
Sophia is the kind of dog who lights up when she’s with her people. She’s very affectionate, loves attention, and is happiest when she’s included in daily life. She does well in both the yard and the house and settles nicely indoors, sleeping in her own bed at night. When left alone, she generally does fine — you just need to hide the trash can, as she’s a curious girl who likes to investigate. She knows her basic commands like sit, stay, and come, and she enjoys structure and routine.
This girl thrives on movement. She currently enjoys three walks a day, plus outdoor adventures on weekends where she can run, explore, and stretch her legs — especially near the lake. She has a high energy level and would be an excellent match for an active individual or family who enjoys hiking, running, or spending time outdoors. She may do well with teenagers who can help engage her energy and keep her busy.
Sophia is very good with women and does well with most men. She hasn’t spent much time around children, but with proper introductions and respectful interactions, she could do well in the right home. She’s polite with food and toys and has shown no aggression. She does get startled by loud noises like thunderstorms, fireworks, and gunshots, so she’ll need a calm, reassuring environment during those times. She likes to chase deer when she sees them, so a securely fenced yard or leash supervision is important.
Sophia is also a heartworm survivor, and she’s doing great. She’s maintained on monthly Heartgard along with flea and tick prevention, and she’s healthy and ready to enjoy life to the fullest. She comes with her bed, toys, and a crate.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will happily run by your side and then curl up with you at the end of the day, Sophia may be your perfect match.

I lost my Aussie a couple of years I go & I felt lost. I started fostering 2 puppies at the shelter and couldn’t put them back in the shelter and felt responsible for them, thus I needed to find them an awesome home! So here I am.
