My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bucky is a young 1-year-old Pit Bull located in Fresno, California, and he’s already been through more than most dogs should. He was found dumped on the street, skinny and alone, with no one looking out for him until a kind person brought him into their home so he wouldn’t have to sleep on the pavement another night. They’ve only had him a couple of days, but it’s clear he’s a good dog who simply needs someone to claim him as their own and not let go.

He’s about 45 pounds, submissive, and has an easy, average energy level for a young dog. Bucky can be timid and unsure at first, but once he realizes he’s safe, he warms up and shows his true sweetness. He’s good with men, women, and kids, and has done well with other dogs. He cries a bit when left alone but settles down, which makes sense for a dog who’s already been abandoned once. Loud noises can startle him, another sign of the rough start he’s had, but he’s trying his best to trust that life doesn’t have to be scary anymore.

Right now Bucky is crate trained and sleeps in a kennel at night. He’s still in training with housebreaking and doesn’t know many commands yet, but he’s young, willing, and eager for guidance. He seems healthy overall, just a bit on the skinny side, and would really benefit from a stable home, consistent meals, and steady affection. He would do best with someone who is home often and not gone long hours—he’s had enough loneliness for one lifetime and really needs his person.

If you’re looking for a gentle, vulnerable young dog who just wants to belong to someone and finally exhale, Bucky is waiting for you. If you’re interested, go to diggs4dogs.com and fill out an application.

More about this rescue

I lost my Aussie a couple of years I go & I felt lost. I started fostering 2 puppies at the shelter and couldn’t put them back in the shelter and felt responsible for them, thus I needed to find them an awesome home! So here I am.
