Carrie is a sweet and spirited Lab mix who is ready to find her forever home. With her sleek black coat and warm, expressive eyes, she’s as beautiful on the outside as she is loving on the inside.
Rescued at just 4 months Carrie has grown into a playful, happy, thriving girl. Unfortunately, our southern partner has not been able to find a home for her (we're thinking due do her being a black dog...because she's pretty awesome), so we stepped in to help.
Carrie loves to play fetch, enjoys spending time outdoors, and is always eager to be part of the action. True to her Labrador roots, she is intelligent, eager to please, and food-motivated, making training a fun, rewarding experience.
Carrie is very quiet in the house, walks well on a leash (with a little pulling at times! She's working on it, ok??), and rides nicely in the car. She knows the command “Kennel Up” and happily goes into her kennel... when given a treat. This girl is both crate and house-trained.
Carrie is a little bit shy when meeting new people or entering new environments, but she does warm up quickly.
Carrie would do best in an active, compassionate household that can match her playful energy while also appreciating her calm, affectionate side. Carrie is a wonderful young dog who promises to bring joy, loyalty, and endless love to the lucky family who welcomes her home.

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
