Dixon is a sweet, tender boy with the softest eyes and the kindest heart. He has a beautifully unique coat that makes him stand out in the most charming way—handsome inside and out. At first, Dixon can be a little bashful, but give him a moment and he’ll quietly make his way right into your heart.

Once he trusts you, Dixon shows his affection in the best way possible: leaning in for ear scritches and letting out the cutest little grunts to let you know just how perfect they feel. It’s his love language 💕.

Dixon also enjoys spending time with other dogs at the center and shows his playful side during doggy playtime. He’s gentle, loving, and would thrive in a home that offers patience, kindness, and plenty of affection.

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
