This helps Little Orphan's Animal Rescue, Inc. with pet care costs.
This bio was a hard one to write as I was unsure what to say about a cat this special. Chance was brought to us by a man that has outdoor cats, and noticed this little guy in bad shape. He contacted us for assistance and we instantly said yes. Chance's leg was in bad shape with such as bad break that his bone was protruding from the skin. Our assumption was he was possibly attacked by a prey animal (fox, dog, etc) but was able to somehow escape. Even after everything he had went through, and assuming he must have had a great deal of pain at one point, this sweet boy showed us nothing but love from the moment he entered our care. He would begin to purr and reach for your attention as soon as any of us would walk in the room. We knew we had to do everything we could to give him the best "Chance" at a love-filled, happy, healthy, and long life that he so deserved. Because it was Holiday time, it was difficult to find Vet care that was able to assist immediately, but thankfully an emergency vet was able to do his surgery on Christmas Eve. The break was so bad, and in a location that would have allowed proper healing that he could ever have use of that leg, it was essential it be amputated before an infection could take over his entire body. If you have ever had a tripod cat (or dog) you know how quickly they heal and can accommodate such a loss. Chance was up the next day walking around, eating, using the box, and finding every possible way to remove his cone. Not so he could disturb his incision, but just so he was able to enjoy being pet without that "interruption".
All of our volunteers are so in love with this perfect kitten. He has the most adorable face, soft fur, and could not be more loving if he tried! He is great with all people, he loves the other cats in his kitten room as we caught him snuggling with Lisa the first day we put him in there. He enjoys being warm and loves to lay on his heating pad, but is also happy to share it with the others. He eats well, he uses the litter box with no issues, and overall does not seem to miss his injured leg at all. He walks perfectly and does everything our other kittens do, and really has since the day after surgery. He is nothing short of perfect, and to be honest, those of us that know and love him are going to be a little jealous of whoever gets to add this sweet boy to their family! If you can offer Chance the most beautiful life (that he obviously deserves) please go to littleorphans.org to complete and application (and please read below).
*****IMPORTANT****** We require your home to include a similar aged feline companion. Young kittens will NOT be approved for homes where they will not have another similar aged (kitten= under one year of age) companion. If you do not wish to adopt two kittens, please consider selecting a cat nearer to one year of age or older. Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of both cats while also making your life easier. Single kitten issues/problems are a real thing. Complete our online adoption application a www.littleorphans.org to start the process of adding an adorable kitten (or two!) to your home. Adoption fees for kittens include spay/neuter, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea preventative, and a microchip
