Brisket arrived at our shelter after being found all alone as a stray. She wasn’t feeling her best at first, but thanks to lots of TLC from our medical team, she’s now ready to find her forever home.
Brisket is a super sweet girl who can be a bit shy at times. She would do best in a calm, quiet home with a patient adopter who’s willing to give her the time and space she needs to truly blossom.
Brisket is FIV positive, which means she has a weakened immune system, but it doesn’t slow her down! Right now, it’s causing some mild sinus issues, and our team would be happy to talk more about what that means and how to support her health.
If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion and have a peaceful home to offer, Brisket may be the perfect match. 💛
Adoption hours are 7 days a week from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM at 2960 Shafto Road.

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
