Tricky is a 3-year-old, 75-pound mixed-breed boy located in Madera, California, and he’s a big, soft-hearted dog who just wants peace, affection, and a place to belong. He originally came from the streets of Fresno and has spent the last year and a half learning what it means to be safe inside a home. Despite a rough start, Tricky has turned into a loving, cuddly companion who thrives on being close to his person.
Tricky is neutered, fully vaccinated (as of June 2025), and house trained. He lives indoors and does well when left alone for short periods. He’s submissive by nature with an average energy level — not hyper, not lazy — and is happiest lounging around the house, especially on the bed. One of his cutest traits is the way he flops dramatically when he plays, clearly enjoying every moment. He knows basic commands like sit and shake and is eager to please.
He’s affectionate with people, fine with men and women, and generally easygoing with strangers, though he may bark briefly when someone arrives. Tricky absolutely loves cats and has done wonderfully with them. He’s usually good with other dogs, but recently began showing signs of jealousy in his current home, which tells us he would do best as an only dog or in a carefully matched home where he doesn’t have to compete for attention.
Tricky would thrive as an indoor dog with someone who wants a loyal companion — ideally a person who is home often and enjoys sharing their space (and their bed) with a big cuddle bug. He may also do well if adopted alongside his canine “dad,” who also needs a home, but Tricky would be perfectly happy being someone’s one-and-only.
He comes with his bed and toys and a heart that’s ready to attach itself fully to the right person. Tricky has already survived the streets — now he just needs a forever home where he can finally relax and feel secure.

I lost my Aussie a couple of years I go & I felt lost. I started fostering 2 puppies at the shelter and couldn’t put them back in the shelter and felt responsible for them, thus I needed to find them an awesome home! So here I am.
