I came to the shelter as a stray with my two siblings, so my early days are a bit of a mystery — but what I do know is that I have a very sweet nature. At first, I can be a little reserved, especially in new environments. I’m not one to rush, and I appreciate when humans take things slow and let me come to them. Once I’ve had time to settle in and feel safe, my true personality shines through — I become friendly, affectionate, and enjoy gentle pets and quiet companionship. I really love being near my people once trust is built. I’m a calm, easygoing girl who enjoys peaceful spaces. I’m also happily independent and content doing my own thing, whether that’s lounging in a cozy spot or watching the world go by nearby. I balance my independence with affection beautifully. If you’re patient, kind, and willing to give me a little time to adjust, I’ll reward you with a loving, steady presence — just like a calm cloud drifting by. The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
