Hi! I’m Charlie. I might seem a little shy when we first meet, but don’t worry—that doesn’t last long at all. Give me just a minute or two and you’ll see my true personality shine. Once I settle in, I start meowing for attention, rubbing up against the kennel wire, and reaching my paws out to say, “Hey, don’t forget about me!” I absolutely love being pet and soaking up affection. I’m only about 7 months old, so I still have that youthful curiosity and playful energy mixed with lots of sweetness. I came to the shelter because my owner became ill and could no longer care for me, but I’m ready to start a new chapter with someone who has room in their heart for me. If you’re willing to give me a brief moment to feel safe, I promise I’ll reward you with affection, purrs, and plenty of love. I’m just waiting for my forever home

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
