Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Baby Girl. She came to GIHS along with her older brother Baby Boy after their owner's health declined. Life here has been difficult for Baby Girl as you can imagine, especially after being separated from her brother, who needed more intensive care due to age and health. For several weeks Baby Girl remained curled up in beds and blankets near the community room window, head buried in her arms, too depressed to interact with visitors. She lost weight. She became sick--a common occurrence in stressed cats. After her health took a turn, GIHS was able to get her into a foster, where she seems to be improving. She still misses her brother, of course, but we believe that in the right environment and with the right family, she'll come out of her shell and know happiness again.

Our goal is to eliminate the euthanasia of companion animals in Galveston County by promoting and providing resources, education, and programs to transform animal welfare in our communities.
What makes us different is we were created to not just help animals, but people too. We realize that animals and people are very much interconnected, and a big part of our organization is outreach.
