Meet Benji
Benji is a resilient, tender-hearted Cavapoo whose gentle spirit shines despite a difficult start in life. He survived being used as a bait dog and carries a partial loss of an ear along with a few spots where his fur is still growing back, small reminders of his past that only make his strength and sweetness more remarkable. Today, Benji is a happy, affectionate, and cuddly boy with beautiful, expressive eyes and a joyful personality. He loves a full belly, cozy snuggles, and getting his zoomies out during walks or playtime. He’s smart, eager to learn, and has quickly picked up his name, basic commands, and fetch. Benji can be a little unsure around larger dogs at first, but his confidence grows with each positive experience. He may bark briefly when meeting new people, but settles quickly once he knows he’s safe. Benji is house-trained, crate-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and rides happily in the car. At about 15 pounds, he’s the perfect size for just about any home.
Benji would thrive with a family that enjoys teaching and guiding a young dog as he continues learning about the world. He has plenty of energy and would do best with a fenced yard to burn it off. Most importantly, Benji is deeply bonded to his best friend, Snoop, and must be adopted together.
Please Note:
**No children under 10!**

More about this rescue
Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
