This gentle senior boy has a heart of gold and an easygoing nature that makes him an absolute joy to have around. Jake found himself in need of a new home through no fault of his own, and those who met him simply couldn’t leave him behind. Jake is the definition of a good boy. He gets along well with other dogs, is fully housebroken, and is crate trained. He has wonderful manners and a calm presence that makes him the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, low-key friend. His recent senior bloodwork shows that he’s healthy, and his vaccinations are all up to date. He is already neutered. Despite his age, Jake still has plenty of love to give and truly shines as a devoted companion. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest just being near his people. Jake is an absolute doll and would thrive in a home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness and care.

Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
