My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elf is a young female budgie with a curious spirit and a whole lot of charm. Her exact age is a mystery, but her confidence certainly isn't. She was found loose inside someone's home after they moved in, so her past is unknown - but she's ready for a fresh start with someone who can show her what safety and kindness feel like.

Elf hasn't had much hands‑on experience with people, and fingers still make her nervous. When she's scared, she may try to bite to protect herself. What she truly needs is a patient, gentle adopter who's committed to helping her work through her fear at her own pace. With consistency and positive experiences, she has every chance to blossom into a trusting companion.

Because she was a stray, we don't know how she feels about other birds. However, many budgies thrive with a feathered friend or even in a small flock. If you're considering pairing her with another bird, a slow, thoughtful introduction will help keep everyone comfortable.

Elf's personality shines every day - she's a chatty little thing, always chirping, bopping her head, snacking on seeds, or turning her drinking water into her personal splash pool (even though she has a perfectly good bird bath!). She's quirky, lively, and full of character.

If you're looking for a small bird with a big heart who just needs someone to believe in her, Elf might be the perfect match. Please submit a pre-adoption questionnaire here: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/bird-pre-adoption-questionnaire/
