Joy (with brother Crispin) is in a wonderful foster home learning all the things an adolescent puppy should know! Here is what her foster mom says:
Joy and her brother Crispin were wiggly puppies without a clue when they went into a foster home with 4 dogs and a cat. Within a week they picked up Sit, and they figured out the dog door on arrival to their in- house pen. After a week of house familiarization, they were let outside with their housemates. They're all about play but quickly learned which dogs would play. The heelers were snarky, but the German Shepherd would let them chase her until they tired.
Rescue Ranch puppies are raised through our puppy foster program. They will have met adults, children, often other dogs, maybe cats. 16-week or older puppies will have taken part in our "Reading to Rescue Pups" program and attended many events.
When they are at least 8 weeks old, puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian.
Before going home, all puppies will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination.
All p uppies are also microchipped and registered with 911PetChip .
We require spay/neutering of puppies at 6-8 months old (or the appropriate age for giant breeds) by our veterinarian. The procedure is covered by the adoption fee. Alternatively, adopters can choose to have the procedure done by their own vet (proof required), and a portion of the cost will be refunded.
All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.
The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300
(unless a reduced fee applies )
