Meet Tricia: A Gentle Soul Seeking Her Safe Haven

Tricia is a sweet 2.5-year-old hound mix with the softest fur, those classic long hound ears, and soulful eyes that look right into your heart. This 40-lb tricolor beauty with adorable speckles dotting her nose has so much love to give. She just needs the right home to help her blossom.

While the big, noisy world can feel overwhelming to Tricia, she absolutely comes alive around other dogs. She'll play for hours with her canine friends, and that's where her true personality shines. In her perfect home, she'll have a playful dog companion and a securely fenced yard where she can romp and feel safe.

With her people, Tricia is gentle and appreciates affection on her own terms. She enjoys pets and will engage in short play sessions with toys. She's polite with treats, eats well, and is fully housetrained (though she does take her time when doing her business outside). She's comfortable sleeping in her crate at night and settling there during the day.

Tricia is looking for patient adopters who understand that she'll need time to adjust and build confidence. Leash walks are challenging for her right now due to her fear of outdoor stimuli, so a home experienced with shy or anxious dogs would be ideal. With consistency, love, and her canine companion by her side, Tricia will reward you with unwavering sweetness and those heartfelt gazes that make every moment worthwhile.

Requirements: Fenced yard, another friendly/playful dog in the home, patient and understanding adopters.

MEET AND GREETS

We primarily rely on meet & greets for potential adopters. Approved adopters may meet adoptable animals at the home of the animal's foster, or possibly in the adopter's own home.

More about this rescue

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. rescues dogs of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters reducing the numbers being euthanized daily. We provide foster homes where they can get the love and attention needed before finding their forever homes. Our organization provides pet adoption services in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, and parts of Southern Pennsylvania. Operation Paws for Homes, a 501(c)(3) organization, is 100% donor funded and could not save these dogs and fulfill their dreams of being united with their forever families, without the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors and volunteers. Sadly, without our help, all of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - usually within days or hours of arriving at the shelter. Each year we take in hundreds of wonderful animals who were left at shelters by no fault of their own.
