My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Isla is a dog with a sweet, gentle heart and a playful spirit that really comes alive once she feels safe! In her foster home, she’s been gaining confidence every day and showing just how loving she can be with the people and dogs she trusts.

Isla truly shines with other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident, friendly canine companion who can help her feel secure and guide her through new experiences. She loves to play and interact with other dogs, though she can sometimes get a bit intense, so her playtime does best with supervision and gentle breaks to keep everyone comfortable.

With people, Isla can be shy at first—especially when meeting new folks or seeing people while out on walks. Once she settles in and knows she’s safe, her affectionate, cuddly side comes out. At home, she’s a joy to live with: she sleeps well in her crate overnight, loves being close to her people, and does well with house training when kept on a consistent routine (a few early accidents are to be expected as she adjusts).

Isla goes for walks on leash and feels most confident when she has another dog to follow. She’s still learning that the outside world isn’t so scary and would do best in a quieter home or neighborhood, possibly with access to a yard for days when walks feel overwhelming.

This sensitive, loving girl is looking for a patient, dog-savvy adopter who will move at her pace, respect her body language, and celebrate her progress—big and small. With kindness, structure, and a confident dog friend by her side, Isla will reward you with loyalty, sweetness, and so many heartfelt moments.

If you are interested in adopting Isla, please email liza.zoey1@gmail.com to arrange an initial meet and greet with the pet’s foster parent or a staff member. They will reply to you within 24-48 hours.
