Petal is a 4 month old Chihuahua mix who came from a severe hoarding situation and had little to no socialization, so the world as a pet is completely new to her.
She is very fearful of new people, sudden movements, and unfamiliar situations and will need a patient, calm adopter who allows her to move at her own pace. She is not a cuddly puppy right away — trust will take time.
She must have a confident, friendly dog in the home to help guide her, a secure fenced yard, and would do best in a home with no small children.
She may be shy now, but with consistency and kindness, she will continue to grow. For the right adopter, helping her discover that the world can be safe will be incredibly rewarding.
