History: Darwin is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Darwin is a gentle, old-soul dog with a naturally sweet disposition and quiet charm. He has a polite way of approaching people that makes it hard not to fall for him, especially once he feels comfortable in his surroundings. When settled into a loving home, he shows pockets of playfulness and enjoys calm companionship with his people.
Darwin is sensitive to change and can be fearful in new environments. Sudden loud noises or unexpected objects may cause him to retreat and shake, though reassuring pets and a calm presence help him regulate. He is currently comfortable in his foster home but will need a patient adopter who understands that confidence comes slowly for him.
Darwin also has Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (dry eye), a manageable condition that requires daily eye medications to keep him comfortable and protect his vision. With proper care, he does well.
Darwin is best suited for a quiet, predictable home with compassionate adopters who value patience, routine, and a strong human-dog bond. In return, he offers steady affection, loyalty, and the kind of presence that quietly fills a room. He is working on potty training, and while he may be an older dog, he is proving that he is capable of learning "new tricks" with consistency and encouragement.
