My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT

Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes, dog savvy cats
Good with kids: Unknown, likely yes
Crate trained: Yes
House Trained: Yes

Hux is a cooperative, attentive big boy ready to be your reliable companion! This medium-energy pup enjoys playing with his canine friends and then happily settles down for some quality time with his humans. Hux would do well in nearly any home ready to provide him with structure and consistency as he continues to thrive.

Hux plays well with dogs of all sizes and ages. He may take a moment to assess another dog's play style before jumping into playtime, but once he warms up, he makes friends quickly! He would likely do well with or without another pup in the home. Hux has shown no interest in chasing the cats he has interacted with. His gentle, reliable nature will likely do well with children in the home. Hux enjoys running in the yard with his dog friends throughout the day before happily coming inside to relax.

Hux is an intelligent boy who takes commands easily and is eager to please. He is fully crate trained and house trained. Hux is crated throughout the day and overnight without any issues and has had zero accidents since coming north. He walks well on leash and is gaining more confidence with each walk as he explores his neighborhood.

This affectionate, well-behaved boy has so much love to give. Are you ready to welcome Hux into your family?

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
