Meet Maven: A Pink-Nosed Purr-Machine
If you ask her foster family what the best thing about Maven is, they’ll give you a simple answer: "Everything!" Maven is a joyful, affectionate, and truly special girl who brings a sense of happiness to every room she enters.

Her Personality
Maven is a social butterfly who loves to be right in the middle of whatever you’re doing. She is a total sweetheart with some very endearing habits:

The Non-Stop Purr: Maven has a motor that never quits! She purrs constantly, but her "volume" really turns up when she knows it’s mealtime.

The "Sous-Chef": She is very helpful in the kitchen! Maven loves to "help" you prepare her food, making sure you’re doing everything just right.

Cuddle Bug: Unlike some cats who need their space, Maven loves to be held and petted. She is a true companion who thrives on human touch.

That Face!: Between her adventurous spirit and her adorable pink nose, she is impossible to resist.

Maven has been fostering alongside her brother, Mowgli, and they have been an absolute dream team. While they both have their own unique personalities, they balance each other out perfectly. They would bring so much joy to a family lucky enough to adopt them as a pair!

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Apply online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHDY/Cat

2.
Interview

We will call to discuss the kind of cat you would like to add to your family. We will also contact your vet and references so let them know!

3.
Approve Application

You receive an email with a tentative approval pending your home visit, with a link to schedule it at your convenience.

4.
Home Check

A quick video home visit to alert you to any dangers in your home or areas of concerns for a cat (example - crystal glassware on shelves).

5.
Meet the Pet

Come meet a specific cat at a meet and greet planned for you or come to one of our adoption events to pick out your new friend.

6.
Sign Adoption Contract

The adoption contract lists your responsibilities for the safety and health of your new family member.

7.
Pay Fee

Standard domestics: $150 young kitten, $125 juvenile kitten, $75 adult. You pay when you adopt or if you choose to reserve.

Shady's Paw Animal Rescue works diligently to pair our cats with the perfect home. The adoption process can be done in a few hours or it can take weeks - it just depends on when your references call us back and when you schedule your home visit.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events are held regularly in the community at Petco Winchester VA every other Saturday. Additional events are held at area festivals, wineries, breweries, and parks. Approved adopters can schedule a private meet and greet with their chosen pet. Same day adoptions are not done, so please apply in advance of any adoption event to give us time to check vet and personal references and to complete the video home visit.
