Leo came into the shelter as a stray, and he is absolutely terrified.
The shelter environment is overwhelming for him, and fear has shut him down. He hides in the corner of his kennel, trembling, trying to disappear. At intake, he was so scared that staff could not safely vaccinate him due to fear-based nipping — this is not aggression, this is pure panic.
With patience and kindness, Leo showed who he truly is. Once given time, he allowed himself to be gently carried so his photo could be taken. Beneath the fear is a sweet, sensitive soul who just needs someone to go slow and show him he’s safe.

As a foster-based rescue, we don't have an actual facility however we will respond to inquiries within 12 to 24 hours in order to discuss the pet you are inquiring about, arrange a meet and greet when possible (or video meet and greet). We look forward to speaking to you - let's save a life together!

Arcadia Animal Rescue is a foster-based rescue comprised of volunteers who are dedicated to saving the lives of animals that are at-risk either in shelters or in our communities, and placing them into safe and loving foster or adoptive homes.
As a 501c3 organization that receives no federal funding, we rely on the generosity of donors in order to provide life-saving veterinary care, spay and neuter, behavioral assessments and modification, emergency boarding, and transport to foster/adoptive homes.
