QUEENIE
Age: 3 years
Sex: Spayed Female
Breed: Labrador Retriever
Color: Black
Weight: 28 kg
Height: 58 cm (at the shoulder)
Rescue Story
Queenie was rescued from a municipal shelter in October 2024, just before euthanasia.
She has been living in a private shelter for about a year and is now ready to finally experience life in a real home.
With People
Queenie is extremely affectionate and loves everyone she meets — both familiar faces and complete strangers.
She happily rubs against people, seeks out touch, and enjoys being petted.
She is friendly with both women and men and does very well with children under 13.
Once she feels comfortable, she will roll over and show her belly for rubs.
She can be picked up and handled with ease.
With Other Dogs
Queenie is a true social butterfly.
She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet them and invite them to play.
She is gentle, friendly, and always wags her tail, even if another dog is rude or pushy.
She tends to prefer dogs her size or smaller and avoids conflict.
With Cats
On walks, she may try to follow cats out of curiosity, but she responds well to redirection.
Cat testing can be arranged.
Energy Level & Home Life
Queenie has a moderate energy level.
She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once she’s had exercise, she settles down nicely and relaxes indoors.
Walks & Training
At first, Queenie may pull on leash because she is excited to explore.
With training and guidance, she learns to walk nicely and stay connected with her handler.
Because she is strong, she would do best with someone who has experience handling medium-to-large dogs.
She is currently an outdoor-potty dog.
Behavior & Manners
No food or toy guarding
Rarely barks
Calm in her kennel
Gentle and friendly nature
She may bark briefly if she is left alone while other dogs are outside, simply because she wants to join them.
Ideal Home
Queenie would thrive in an active, loving home where she can enjoy companionship, walks, and plenty of affection — whether as an only dog or with other friendly dogs.
She is a wonderful family dog who brings joy, warmth, and love wherever she goes.
