Macadamia is a beautiful, almost 5-year-old mama who has spent her life giving to others. After lovingly raising her puppies, she’s finally ready for something she’s never truly had—a home of her very own.
Originally from our Vineland location, Macadamia didn’t get the gentle start she deserved, but despite it all, her heart remains incredibly kind. She greets everyone she meets with sweetness and trust, as if she’s always believed that better days were coming.
We’re still learning how she feels about other dogs, but one thing is certain: Macadamia adores people and is ready to leave her hard days behind. She deserves a soft place to land, a warm bed, and a family who will love her just as deeply as she loves in return.

We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
