Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Meet Dolly – A Gentle Soul Looking for a Quiet, Understanding Home 🐾
This sweet little girl is Dolly, a 4-year-old, 12-pound, spayed female who is current on vaccinations and microchipped. Dolly came to us from Sacramento County Animal Care Services in October 2025, and while she is undeniably adorable, her story is one of sensitivity and survival. 💗
Dolly is very fearful of most things, especially sudden or unfamiliar noises. The heater turning on, a loud sound, or unexpected activity can be frightening for her. Because of this, Dolly needs a home that is calm, predictable, and patient—one that understands that trust comes slowly and gently.
She does find comfort in other dogs and enjoys spending time outdoors, where she seems more at ease. Dolly prefers to do everything on her own terms. If she feels pressured, she will retreat and hide. But when the environment is quiet and peaceful, Dolly will choose to come sit beside her foster family and may allow a brief, gentle stroke of her fur—a small but meaningful sign of trust.
✨ Dolly is not a dog for a busy or noisy household. She is a dog for someone who truly understands shy, fearful dogs and is willing to move at her pace. ✨
If you are interested in Dolly, a thoughtful email is required. To be considered as her adopter, you must clearly explain:
• Why you believe you are a good match for Dolly
• What you will specifically do to help her feel safe and begin to overcome her fears
📧 Please email: ChiRescue@ymail.com
Dolly may be quiet and cautious, but in the right home, her gentle presence can be deeply rewarding. Sometimes the softest hearts need the calmest homes. 💕
