Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Static
Static is a 4-year-old spunky guy with a thoughtful soul. He’s the kind of dog who may hang back at first, quietly sizing things up, but once he feels safe and understood, his spark really shines. New people can be a little overwhelming for him, so he’s looking for patient humans who will let him warm up at his own pace—and trust us, it’s worth the wait.
Static would do best in a calmer home. If there are kids in the home, they would need to be at least 13 years old and be able to respect his sensitive side and give him space when he needs it. When it comes to other dogs, Static is flexible: he could happily co-exist with a laid-back canine companion, but he’d be just as content soaking up all the love as your one-and-only. Playful dogs would likely be too much for him.
With the right match, Static’s spunky personality and quiet charm make him a truly special companion. If you’re looking for a dog who doesn’t rush relationships but forms meaningful ones, Static might just be your perfect connection.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
