Hello, my name is Howie! I'm a 1-year-old labrador/pit bull terrier mix. I am current on my vaccines, and soon to be heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped.

Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: When I first came into the shelter I was very scared and unsure of new people. I've been making progress every day, so now I'm a little more outgoing. I'm incredibly food motivated, so that will make training even easier! I have a lot of energy so I'd make a good running or hiking partner!

Housetraining Status: I am working on it, with a consistent schedule and lots of praise I should learn quick!
I should do well in a home: Any children in my home will need to be 13 years or older. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats.
My favorite activities are: Running around outside and getting affection from my favorite people!
Things I need work on are: I like to play tug of war with my leash sometimes, so I could use some work with my leash walking skills. My basic commands could also use some work.

We are located at 911 Critter Court in Onalaska (right behind the Gundersen Lutheran Clinic). Animal visitation hours are from 1:00pm - 4:00pm Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Office hours are Monday-Friday 9-5p, Saturday and Sunday 1-5p.
