Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Max is a 4-year-old male mixed breed with a heart as big as his goofy grin. He was surrendered alongside his siblings through no fault of his own, and after spending much of his life in a kennel, he’s more than ready to discover what love, comfort, and freedom in a forever home are all about.
Max has a beautiful, sleek coat with rich shades of brown and black, paired with warm, open eyes that melt hearts instantly. He’s a big, dopey goofball in the very best way—playful, affectionate, and always happy to be part of the fun. He absolutely loves to play and is wonderfully amicable with other dogs, spending his days romping, wrestling, and making friends in the big yard.
Attention is Max’s favorite thing in the world. He’s perfectly content soaking up affection from anyone willing to give it, whether that’s belly rubs, head scratches, or simply being nearby. He’s still learning how toys work, but watching him slowly figure them out is part of his charm.
Max is potty-trained and crate-trained, and while he’s still polishing up his basic manners, he’s incredibly food-motivated—making training a breeze. He does well with other dogs, cats, and kids, and would fit beautifully into just about any home.
Max would thrive in a family ready to welcome a lovable goofball who promises endless laughs, snuggles, and unconditional love. Bonus points if there’s a canine companion at home—he’d love a built-in best friend!

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
