Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Just one look at this guy and you’ll see exactly how he got his name — Happy’s signature smile never leaves his face. Whether he’s lounging beside his favorite person, romping around with his dog friends, or playing with a toy, he radiates pure joy.
At 2.5 years old and about 70 pounds, Happy is a mixed-breed bundle of sunshine who truly loves life. He makes friends with every person and dog he meets and would be the perfect adventure buddy for anyone with a moderate to active lifestyle. Happy especially loves being outside, where he can stretch his legs, feel the breeze on his fur, and get in all the sniffs his heart desires.
Sometimes he forgets he’s not a lap dog and will try to wiggle right into your lap for cuddles — he just has that much love to give! He’s potty-trained and crate-trained, though he’s still working on polishing up his basic manners. Happy gets along well with other dogs, though he’s still learning to respect boundaries during playtime. He's a big boy and has a mild prey drive, so he'd do best in a home without cats.
With his infectious joy and go-with-the-flow attitude, Happy would fit right in with just about any loving home. If you’re looking for a companion who finds delight in every little moment, this cheerful guy is ready to make your days brighter!

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
