My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a previous owner on October 16, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Astonishing, a tiny friend with big dreams of finding a loving home! Astonishing loves zooming through tunnels, burrowing into fluffy bedding and munching on tasty treats. Her ideal setup is at least 650 square inches of space, including 6 to 8 inches of bedding for maximum tunnel construction, a wheel for midnight marathons, and a buffet of high-protein goodies with a side of seeds, nuts, veggies and the occasional fruit treat. If you're looking for a small pet with a lot of charm, Astonishing is ready to scurry into your heart! Bring a secure carrier to adopt her today.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
