Hi, I’m Luka. I was surrendered when my family could no longer afford to care for me, and now I’m looking for a new forever home. I’ve always lived indoors only, and I do well with other cats and people. I haven’t had experience with children or dogs yet, so any introductions would need to be slow and patient. I’m friendly, affectionate, playful, and a little aloof, with a vocal side that lets you know how I’m feeling. I enjoy sitting in laps, being pet, and snuggling—especially when I flop across the back of the couch in my favourite silly position. When I’ve had enough attention, I’ll politely get up and leave (with a tail flick or a meow if I’m being held too long). I love playtime and go crazy for laser pens, plastic springs, and toy mice. I have great litter box manners and no known health concerns. I’ve lived with another cat my age and we played, slept, groomed, and occasionally wrestled, but no one was ever hurt. I’m looking for a forever home that understands cat boundaries, enjoys a chatty companion, and doesn’t mind a little personality. If you want a fun, affectionate cat with a goofy streak and lots of love to give, I might be your Luka.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
