Rescue Story
Poppy was found wandering in a rural area and brought to a local shelter before being rescued by our team
Poppy is a gentle, affectionate, and people-loving puppy who happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers for cuddles She loves being picked up (yes — you can scoop her right up under her belly!) and once she feels safe, she’ll roll over and show her tummy
Great with children
Poppy is especially wonderful with kids, including children under 13, making her a lovely family companion.
With other dogs
She politely greets other dogs but doesn’t feel the need to play. High-energy dogs can feel overwhelming for her — she prefers calm friends and peaceful company.
With cats
Poppy has lived with a cat for several days and showed no reactivity. Even on walks, if she sees cats, she stays focused on her person
On walks
Poppy walks nicely on leash without pulling and enjoys stopping to sniff and explore She follows her handler well and is calm and gentle outside.
At home
• Uses both pee pads and outdoor potty
• Calm in a kennel
• Does not guard food
• Rarely barks
• Naturally clean and easy to care for
Because she is still young and new to the world, Poppy can be a little shy in unfamiliar situations. When unsure, she sticks close to her person, sometimes leaning against their legs or standing between them for comfort
Poppy would do best in a calm, loving home where she can stay close to her people and enjoy a peaceful, cozy life
