My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rudy
Small dog. Big personality. Endless charm.

Age: ~4 years
Gender: Male
Weight: ~13 lbs (6 kg)
Breed: Wire-haired mixed breed
Color: Black & white

Health

Neutered
Vaccinated
Heartworm negative

Personality & Behavior

Rudy is a confident, spunky little guy with a huge heart packed into a small body. He’s friendly, intelligent, and full of character—true terrier charm through and through.

Good with dogs: Yes (plays with dogs of all sizes)
Good with cats: Yes—very respectful
Good with kids: Yes
Resource guarding: No
Vocal: Normal alert barking
Shedding: No (regular brushing recommended)
Energy level: Medium

Though tiny, Rudy sometimes forgets his size and happily plays with larger dogs—supervised introductions are recommended, as with all new dog friendships.

Training & Daily Life

‍ Leash trained
Rides well in the car
Potty trained with a routine
Crate trained

Rudy currently lives with a foster who runs a daycare facility. He spends much of his day outside with other dogs and comfortably takes himself away when he needs quiet time—often choosing the peaceful company of the resident cats.

Sleeping habits:
Rudy sleeps indoors with the household dogs and cats. While he’s crate trained, given the chance he’ll happily curl up on the couch or sneak onto the bed for extra snuggles.

Temperament

Rudy is lively, affectionate, and confident, with a softer side that loves cozy blankets, couches, and cuddling close. He enjoys the outdoors but is very much an indoor dog, keeping an eye (and ear!) on his surroundings—making him a charming little home guardian.

Ideal Home

Rudy isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for his person. Someone to share daily life with, whether that’s joining you on walks or relaxing by your side.

He would do wonderfully:
• As a second dog (especially with other small dogs)
• In a home with cats
• With someone who appreciates a loving, loyal companion

Rescue Story

Rudy’s story is one we sadly see too often—lost when family circumstances changed. Thankfully, he was taken in by one of our trusted rescue partners in Guadalajara, where he was given safety, love, and stability.

Now, our goal is simple: to make sure Rudy is never let down again and to help him find the forever family he truly deserves.

Location: Mexico (waiting for a committed 10-day trial)
