Hi, I’m Hearst — a fluffy flame point Siamese mix with striking blue eyes, the cutest pink nose, and soft ginger touches on my head and tail, plus the faintest whisper of a ginger cape along my back. I’m a gentle, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than curling up beside my favorite human, soaking up pets, and purring contentedly. Catnip is pure joy for me — I’m a big fan of rolling, kicking, and blissfully wrestling my favorite catnip kicker toy.

After being abandoned on the streets and left to fend for myself, I’ve learned to truly appreciate the simple pleasures: sitting in the sun, watching birds and bugs, and quietly taking in the world. I’d love a safe way to keep enjoying that — like a catio or secure yard — especially if it means sharing those moments with my human. I do fine around other cats as long as I have my purr-sonal space, and what I want most of all is to finally settle into a warm, secure home where I’m loved and never left behind again.

Approve Application

Adoption applications will be reviewed during shelter hours (Tue-Sat, 12-5.) We reserve the right to deny an application for any reason.

Interview

During the Adoption Interview, we will discuss your living situation, your needs, and how you plan to provide a happy home for a cat.

Sign Adoption Contract

Pay Fee

Adoption Fees: Kittens under 1 year old: $125, Cats 1- 8 years old: $99, Senior cats, 8+ years: $69, Seniors (8+) for Seniors (62+): $25

Take the Pet Home

If you plan to adopt, please bring a carrier with you for your new kitty! Otherwise a cardboard carrier may be provided.

Additional adoption info

Prior to Adoption, all HART cats or kittens will have had:

*Spay or Neuter
*Vaccinations
*Worming, de-fleaing and de-miting
*A medical exam
*Microchip
*Collar and ID tag - your pet is registered with HART Health records
*Tips and guidelines for introducing your new pet into your home.
*A cardboard carrier - or you can bring your own carrier at the time of adoption.

HART is a hands-on volunteer organization working to make a difference in our community of San Luis Obispo County by rescuing abandoned animals, trapping and neutering stray and feral cats, and fostering sick and needy animals until we can find the best matched homes for them. Our unique cage-fee shelter allows cats to roam freely and socialize with each other. We are a no-kill shelter.
