Meet Topper, a true big marshmallow with a heart of gold. At just 11 months old and weighing about 65 lbs, Topper is a sweet, gentle soul who is already dreaming of his forever home. He is incredibly loving, very smart, and when he looks at you with those soulful eyes, it's impossible not to melt.
Topper is dog, cat, and kid friendly, making him a wonderful fit for many different types of homes. He is also house trained and vaccinated, so he is well on his way to being the perfect family companion. Topper loves being by your side and is happiest when he can snuggle up close and soak in all the affection he missed early in life.
Before coming into rescue, Topper lived outdoors and was hit by a car. Despite everything he has been through, his spirit remains sweet and trusting. He is now receiving the very best care in a loving foster home and will be undergoing surgery to help repair his hip. Topper will be available for adoption in a few months once he has fully recovered, but this special boy is absolutely worth the wait.

Almost Home Dog Rescue NC is a small foster-based rescue group in Western Carolina. After volunteering for years in a local county animal shelter, we could not turn away from the dogs that needed our help the most. We have created a home environment with comfy cabins for the pooches in our fun red barn and provide loads of fun, enrichment and training for the pups in our care.
