My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEET AND GENTLE BIG BOY IS TIMID, BUT LOVES PEOPLE! NEEDS TO FEEL SAFE IN A CALM ENVIRONMENT, WITH ENCOURAGEMENT TO BE CONFIDENT AND HAVE FUN. GOOD WITH QUIET OLDER KIDS, 6+ YRS. HAS BEEN FINE WHEN SEEING CATS AROUND, BUT NOT TESTED OUT WITH THEM. NEVER MET A DOG.

I`m a simple guy that has lived a quiet life. I`ve never been around kids or other animals. I`ve never been very outgoing, except for showing my people I love them very much! I need lots of sweet talk and a very soft touch getting to know and trust you. The longer I know you, the more you will love me! People mean everything, so I will become your best buddy, showering you with attention, and I`ll happily come when you call! Until I become more confident, sudden movements or noises make me jumpy. Remember me when using plastic bags, a broom, and especially the vacuum! I`ll back away and hide if I get nervous or frightened, or look to you to tell me it`s okay. I`m always so gentle that I should be fine, maybe even good buddies, with older kids that are sweet and on the quiet side.

In a new place, I`ll find a comfy home base that feels safe. As I begin to feel at ease, I will venture out to curiously check things out a little at a time. At home I was a little playful. I`m still nervous here, but a couple of my toys have moved around when nobody was looking. If you`re very gentle with our wand toy, I will start playing! I`ve seen the other cats when I was out, and just stopped to look in at them curiously for a few seconds. I haven`t been out with any of them. If I`m living with other pets in the home, they will need to be sweet and friendly, and allow me some space. I`d like a covered bed, or a cozy mat or bed in a quiet spot, like under a desk. Soft blankets on furniture will tempt me to spend time there! Having a cat tree with a box in the middle would be fun and feel safe. I eat some dry food, and I prefer tuna and fish flavored wet food. I don`t have much to say, but I`m incredibly good company, that`s always got plenty of love to share!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
