*** Tao is in our PetSmart Encinitas adoption center. ***
Tao #19557: brown/black/white Snowshoe mix, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/7/24
Cats: likes & fine solo Dogs: fine with calm ones Children: cat-savvy 12+
BACKGROUND: Tao was rescued from an overcrowding situation in San Jacinto by a local rescuer who is working to spay/neuter the large numbers of cats and get the adoptable ones out so they can find loving homes. When The Rescue House had an opportunity to help, Tao was among those who transferred to our care. She had some GI imbalances that took some time to settle; she has a probiotic added to her food once a day that keeps her system happy.
PERSONALITY: Tao is a sweet, aloofly affectionate, and princess-like girl with a darling face. She will chirp when she wants attention, and even lift her paw at you to tell you she wants some love. She’ll give little guiding nips to say she either wants more or less pets, so people who are willing to let her be in charge and are good at understanding cat whims are best. Tao prefers to keep her paws under her own control rather than be picked up and she asks that you let her come to you on her terms… when given that courtesy, she will happily interact. She likes to hang out in the same room all the time and will sit with you for short periods of time so long as you don’t fuss over her too much. Tao loves wand toys, strings (hoodies and drawstring pants are her favorites), and catnip toys. She’ll run and jump around then settle down for a snooze, but a tasty lickable Churu-type treat is always welcome!
COMPATIBILITY: Tao likes mellow friendly cats after a proper introduction (she fostered with Ebony and they did well together). She is all right with calm, cat-friendly dogs. Respectful children approaching their teens who are not rowdy or overly handsy would likely be fine. An overly loud or active household would not be her jam.
Are you ready for a pretty princess to rule your heart and home?
