Crosby is as gentle and affectionate as they come. Despite his age, he has the playful spirit of a much younger dog. He has a genuine zest for life and loves exploring the world around him. His shiny black coat and soulful brown eyes are just the beginning of his charm.

Crosby adores humans and canines alike. He has a lovely temperament and gets along well with everyone he meets. Whether it’s sniffing new scents on a walk or discovering the joy of a new toy, Crosby finds happiness in the simple things around him. Especially if it means belly rubs!!! He offers the perfect blend of active interest and loyal companionship.

Crosby is a quick learner and desires nothing more than to make you happy. He is house trained. He is also learning or possibly recalling his commands, including sit and down. Proving to all the naysayers that you can indeed teach (or maybe in this case remind) an older dog new tricks!

If you're ready to meet your best friend with the biggest heart and lots of love to give, Crosby is waiting to meet you!

Crosby is heartworm positive, but please don’t let that deter you—heartworm is not contagious, is fully treatable, and we provide all medication and guidance needed throughout treatment.

Submit Application

You can find our application at www.mostlymuttz.org.

2.
Home Check

All persons living in the household are required to be present.

3.
Approve Application

You will receive an approval email from our organization within several days of having your home visit completed.

4.
Meet the Pet

You will be able to adopt at this meeting if it is a match.

5.
Pay Fee

Adoption fees vary based on dog. We accept cash, PayPal or Venmo. The contract will also be signed at this time.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Congratulations on your new family member!

Additional adoption info

The Initial review of your application will occur within 72 hours.

Please contact your vet authorizing them to release information to us.
Also, let your references know we’ll be calling.
****Failure to take these steps may delay the process

Once your references have been contacted, someone will contact you to schedule a home visit.
After your home visit you will receive an email informing you of your approval.

Schedule a meet/adoption. You will be able to finalize your adoption of the dog at this meeting.

Please read your contract thoroughly before the meeting.

You will be required to send an update at 2 weeks, 6 months, and annually. The email addresses for those updates will be at the bottom of the contract.

If it has been determined that training is a requirement for the dog you’re adopting this will be noted on the contract. You will be required to submit verification of training completion.

Payment by cash is due at the time of adoption. If you choose to use PayPal, payment should be made prior to the meeting/adoption. You will need to forward the electronic email you receive from PayPal, to mostlymuttz@gmail.com to confirm your payment before the meeting/adoption.

Adoption Fees:

Altered puppies (8 weeks - 1 year old): $525

Unaltered puppies (8 weeks - 1 year old): $450 (A $100 sterilization deposit is required in addition to fee. This is refunded upon verification of altering.)

Adults (1yo-7yo): $375

Seniors (7+ years old): $250

Adult dogs who have been with us for over 6 months: $188

We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves at least a fighting chance to live, to love and to be loved for the entirety of their life. At Mostly Muttz Rescue, we often choose to save dogs suffering from curable illnesses within the shelter system rather than rescuing dogs that will be easy to place.
