Meet Rudy!
Rudy is a 5-month-old puppy (estimated DOB: 8/18/25) weighing around 40 lbs, with plenty of growing left to do! While his exact breed mix is unknown, our best guess is a combination of Lab, Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Black Mouth Cur - though a DNA test would be needed to know for sure. What is certain is that Rudy is a big, lovable puppy with an active spirit and a whole lot of potential.
Rudy came from a difficult situation and was initially very guarded, but with patience and positive reinforcement, he has learned that people are kind and safe. Watching his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding, and he continues to blossom into a sweet, social and affectionate boy who enjoys spending time with his people.
As a typical puppy, Rudy is still working on his manners. He can get jumpy when he’s excited and will need continued training to help him polish his leash skills and puppy behaviors. He is crate trained, treat and food motivated, and has a solid start on house manners, though consistency and routine will help him continue to improve.
Rudy loves playing with toys and would thrive in an active home that can meet his physical and mental needs. A physical fenced yard is necessary so he has a safe space to run, play, and burn off his puppy energy. He would do best with older, dog-savvy children and other dogs that are tolerant of a big, playful puppy. He has not shown any concerning interest in cats.
Rudy is a sweet, resilient boy looking for an active, committed family ready to continue building his confidence and guide him through puppyhood. If you’re searching for a loyal companion to grow up with and love furever, Rudy may be the perfect match.
Rudy is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Neutered
ADOPTION FEE: $300

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.
While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
