My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lenan is a very curious young guy that likes to take his time to get used to new people and new spaces! Once he is comfortable, he will seek you out and make sure you know when he wants his chin scratches and butt pats through his adorable meows. Lenan may even be offended if he knows you and you don`t stop to pet him when you pass by! He`s also happy to enjoy your company as he watches you make coffee in the kitchen. Lenan has lived with children and other cats before, but we want to make sure he has a chance to become comfortable in his new environment and all introductions should be made slowly! There is so much for this little guy to explore and so many people for him to meet, so come and say hi to him today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
