My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mickey - Our Special Little Guy
Hi, I'm Mickey! I'm a 1-year-old tabby with the sweetest personality you'll ever meet. I have something that makes me a little different-my spine is "crooked," most likely from birth, which gives me a shorter torso and a unique look. But don't let that fool you-I'm healthy, happy, and full of love!
I'm a champion purrer and absolutely adore attention. I'm gentle, affectionate, and just want someone to see me for who I am-a sweet boy who deserves a forever home.
You really need to meet me to understand how special I am. I promise, once you do, you'll fall in love.
Could you be the one to give Mickey the loving home he's been waiting for?

The Chilliwack Branch is an Animal Protection Centre for pets who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful homes. The Centre is open to the public by appointment only due to the security issues associated with housing animals awaiting the outcome of legal proceedings. We will accept surrendered animals by appointment only, and we are open for adoptions on special occasions.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
