My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SHY AT FIRST, AFFECTIONATE, AND PLAYFUL. GREAT WITH OTHER CATS. OK WITH GENTLE KIDS. COULD BE OK WITH A VERY CALM DOG.

While I am scared at first, if you’re very patient with me I will soon become one of the most affectionate kittens you’ll ever meet! (Small or lickable treats are a great way to help me open up to you.) Once I know I’m safe with you, I will purr loudly and rub up against you, eager for pets and attention. I’m still getting used to being held, but if you sit still long enough, I am happy to sit in your lap. I also love to play! I especially love ribbon toys, electronic floor toys with mats and butterflies, and wand toys with feathers. I can sometimes get a little nippy when I play, but I’m a good listener and I stop as soon as I’m told “no” or I’m reminded to be gentle. I also love cat trees that have places for me to hide so I can always have a safe space. Because I have so much energy for play, I’d really prefer to go to a home with another cat/kitten that will be my buddy.

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
