My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ellsa

Ellsa is a gorgeous Siberian Husky with expressive eyes and a gentle, loving personality. This sweet girl is a rescue who’s ready to trade her past for a future filled with comfort, care, and adventure.

Like many Huskies, Ellsa is intelligent, curious, and enjoys being active. She loves walks, exploring her surroundings, and spending time with her people. She also has a softer side and enjoys relaxing and bonding once she feels safe.

Ellsa is Lyme disease positive, which means she has been exposed to Lyme disease. Many dogs with Lyme live full, happy lives, especially with proper veterinary care and routine monitoring. The rescue can provide more information about her condition and what it means for her long-term health.

Despite this diagnosis, Ellsa remains cheerful, affectionate, and eager to please. She’s looking for a loving home with adopters who understand that sometimes great dogs come with a little extra responsibility—and a lot of extra love in return.

If you’re searching for a loyal companion with beauty, heart, and resilience, Ellsa may be the perfect match for you.

Ellsa is ready to start her next chapter—could it be with you?

More about this rescue

AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport, Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit animal welfare organization based in Adel, Iowa. In addition to caring for our local strays, we are working to bridge the gap between traditional animal shelters and no-kill rescues in 2 different ways: 1) By providing free transportation for dogs and cats from traditional shelters to no-kill rescues all over the Midwest and Canada. We also provide overnight rest stops for our furry travelers and temporary housing for those whose time has run out at the shelters, but have to wait for a foster spot to open up in one of the rescues; 2) By pulling as many dogs out of traditional shelters that are on death row and placing them in foster homes and forever homes thru our organization.
