Meet Mabel

Mabel is a lovely hound girl with a heart as gentle as her soulful eyes. True to her hound nature, she loves to follow her nose—especially when it leads her to a tasty snack! Exploring the world scent by scent is one of her favorite pastimes.

Mabel is a sensitive, kind-hearted pup who thrives in calm, loving environments. She truly enjoys the company of other dogs and loves strolling together or relaxing nearby.

With her soft spirit and affectionate nature, Mabel is the kind of companion who will steal your heart and make every walk an adventure worth savoring.

A note from Maybell's foster! :

Maybell – Behavior & Personality Notes
Maybell is a calm, gentle, and incredibly affectionate girl with a heart of gold. She absolutely loves being close to her people, whether that’s snuggling on the couch, leaning in for hugs, or simply hanging out by your side. Those classic hound eyes will melt you instantly.
She’s somewhat active and enjoys play, especially interactive toys and puzzle games, she loves putting her nose to work and will happily entertain herself. Maybell is very friendly and welcoming, getting excited to greet passersby, both people and other pets.
She’s generally a quiet dog, using her hound voice sparingly. Loud noises like ambulances and fire trucks earned her curious looks rather than fear.
In the car, she did well overall, getting in and out was a little intimidating at first, but once settled, she seemed to enjoy the ride. She’s still working on basic cues like sit and stay, but she’s eager and sweet throughout.
Overall, Maybell is happiest when she’s with her humans, out exploring or relaxing at home. A truly gentle, affectionate soul.

The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36924/generic

If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants.

The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
