My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Geppetto, a two and a half month old Maine Coon/American Shorthair mix.

Geppetto is a sweet, growing boy with a little mystery—he may have some Maine Coon in him, but we’ll never know for sure without a DNA test. What we do know is that he’s destined to be a big, beautiful cat; at almost 4 pounds already, he’s on his way!

Born on the streets to a feral mom along with his siblings Garfunkel and Gabby, Geppetto came from a rough start. Thankfully, his mom has been TNRed, so no more kittens will join the family. Because they were a bit older when rescued, Geppetto and his siblings are still a little timid and will need a home that is patient, consistent, and willing to “force” some love on them—helping them continue to socialize and build trust.

We recommend starting Geppetto in a smaller space, like a bathroom or a large kennel, so he can’t hide and you can gently handle him until he becomes comfortable. Once he trusts you, Geppetto is a total love bug in your arms, with so much potential to blossom into the affectionate companion he was meant to be.

He would do best in a quieter home with no kids, where his people can give him the time, patience, and attention he deserves. With love and consistency, Geppetto is ready to turn the page on his rough beginnings and become the loyal, loving cat you’ve been waiting for.

Please remember that Geppetto is a kitten and kitten behavior comes with the package. They need lots of toys and places to scratch to learn good scratching habits. They also need patience as they finesse their litter box skills in a new home they are unfamiliar with.
