Fallon came to us after retiring from hunting. He loves other dogs, and we were told he is good with children. He is a shy pup, but much more confident outside. He is not completely housebroken because he has never lived in a home, but his foster family is taking him outside often, and he has had only a few accidents. His life has changed so much from being an outdoor dog kept in a small enclosure to now lounging on the couch, enjoying pup cups, playing with his Chihuahua foster sister, and even being featured on Fox25's FureverFriday spotlight. Podengos are known for being intelligent, playful, and loyal dogs, but can have an independent streak. Fallon was neutered and updated on his vaccines on January 15th, and is ready for adoption.

Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

We review applications in the order received and do call vet references and contact landlord if you rent.

We are a no-kill shelter, which means no pet will ever be euthanized because it has run out of time to find a home.
