My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful senior beagle is available for adoption! After spending her first 13 years living outside we hope there is someone out there willing to spoil her and give her the love (and home) she deserves.

Hope is a chill older dog with plenty of pep in her step. Even though the first 13 years of her life were hard, she is a happy go lucky little Beagle! And we mean little, she's under 20 lbs. She loves people, dogs, walks, and lots of sniffing! Ignores the many cats in her foster home too.

She'll snuggle with you on the couch and follow you everywhere. She likes the idea of toys but hasn't figured them out yet, loves treats and small chews. She is great in the car on her short trips to and from her foster mom's work. She is great while hanging out at The Nautical Dog, where her foster mom works, although all food items need to be up and trash secured! She is a typical beagle!

She sleeps in crate at night because she is still working on house training, but during the day with regular walks she rarely has an accident, which is amazing for living outside her whole life and only 3 weeks into rescue! She sleeps well through night, no barking day or night (maybe a yelp if you accidentally step on her toes because she is so close!). She is a wonderful girl and deserves to be spoiled for Hope-fully the years she has left.

Additional adoption info

We require an application. Once the application is received we check personal and vet references and if renting, we verify with leasing company that pets are allowed. If that is approved, we set up a meeting with the pet. We then perform a home check. If the person wants to adopt, we require a contract and our adoption fee is $300.00. Our dogs are all spayed/neutered, HW tested, up to date on shots and micro-chipped.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs are all kept in foster homes. Once an applicant is approved we set up a place for them to meet the pet.

More about this rescue

Homes Fur Hounds Inc. was formed to help the overwhelming number of animals that are abandoned, surrendered to county agencies and simply unwanted. These animals are facing death due to no fault of their own other than not being convenient. Our mission is to help stop the unnecessary killing of animals. Thousands of animals are put to sleep (some more humanely than others) every day. We strive to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, heartworm preventive and general health care. We also strive to help owners who are experiencing difficulties with their pet find solutions to their problems. By helping them find solutions we keep the animals out of the county pounds and from being abandoned. It is our policy to adopt out only healthy dogs and to do our best to know and understand what type of home the dog needs. We are always striving to find that “forever home” for the animals.
