My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This darling girl is a three-month-old Domestic Shorthair with a smile in her eyes! Emily was found as a tiny kitten after wandering into a yard in the cold. Thankfully, a kind person took her in and brought her to the shelter. While she is a bit shy at first, she can’t help but open up the moment you scratch her cheeks and neck. When petted, she immediately transforms into a vibrating little ball of purrs! Emily will thrive with gentle people who can give her the time and love she needs to build her confidence. Although she was found all on her lonesome, she has since made many kitten friends here and absolutely loves the company!

Emily is microchipped, vaccinated to age, and available for foster to adopt until she`s old enough to be spayed at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter. You can visit her Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

OUR MISSION

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.

OUR STORY

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
